Candace Owens Responds After ‘Saturday Night Live’ Mocks Her in Racial Sketch

NBC’s flailing “Saturday Night Live” opened this weekend’s show with a skit mocking Fox News and conservatives, including Daily Wire host Candace Owens.

The skit framed Republicans as racists and unfeeling and mocked Owens for being black and having views SNL apparently believes are unacceptable for a black person.

In the skit, cast member Ego Nwodim played Owens, speaking to Kate McKinnon as Fox News host Laura Ingraham.

Owens quickly commented on the sketch, letting the long-running show know they can call her in for an appearance if they are ever down to make the show funny again.

“Hey [SNL] —not sure who this woman is you have playing me but I am much better looking than this,” Owens joked.

“Next time just reach out and I’ll play myself,” she wrote. “That way the skit will actually be funny and America might even tune in to the show again! #SaturdayNightLive.”

“My next guest is here to address the voting rights bill, which would make it easier to vote for minorities and harder for white people in Florida to vote twice,” McKinnon as Ingraham said in the skit. “Please welcome my one black friend Candace Owens.”

“Martin Luther King would have voted for Trump,” the comedian playing Owens said. “Laura, liberals try to make everything about race. To quote the only words Martin Luther King ever said, ‘I have a dream.’ That’s it, end of quote. Nothing about money or jobs or schools, unless you count his tombstone that said, ‘Great job, gang, racism over.’”

The segment mocking Owens ended with Nwodim saying black people want Owens to stop speaking out, again attacking Owens for being black and thinking in a way that’s apparently unacceptable.

Owens is routinely targeted by the Left and their allies in the media, and the attacks often concern her race. Last month, for example, Deadspin was forced to delete a tweet that referred to ESPN’s Sage Steele as “the black Candace Owens,”

“IDIOT OF THE YEAR #6: Sage Steele, the Black Candace Owens,” the original tweet read.

The Daily Caller’s David Hookstead was among those who called out Deadspin for the racist comment, sharing a screenshot of the now-deleted tweet with the comment: “What the hell is this garbage, @Deadspin? She doesn’t agree with your views so you launch a racist attack against MULTIPLE black women? There’s something seriously wrong with these people, and it’s downright pathetic.”

Here is the skit, the Candace segment starts around 4:45
