A boy who claims to be transgender was crowned homecoming queen at a high school in Missouri, sparking outrage from locals, with one parent saying they were “appalled” by the decision.
The X account for NKC Schools posted a photo of the student, Tristan Young, being crowned homecoming queen of Oak Park High School.
The school locked replies to the post, but many still quoted the post and added their own thoughts to it, with many referencing other instances of biological men taking opportunities away from women, such as University of Pennsylvania swimmer Lia Thomas.
According to X account Libs of TikTok, Young beat out four girls to obtain the title.
One parent of a student at the school expressed their opinion on the competition, wishing to remain anonymous. They said, “I’m appalled by NKC Schools’ continued support of the LGBT agenda. NKC Schools says they are ‘Champions for All Students’ yet by embracing radical political statements like this they not only indoctrinate children, but they are placing certain student populations over others.”
“Having two homecoming ‘queens’ that are boys is a disgrace to the NKC Schools community. I hope more parents, community members and district employees start speaking out and start protecting children.”
