On Tuesday, Rep. Eric Swalwell, D-Calif., took to Twitter to compare Rep. Lauren Boebert, R-Colo., to the primary suspect of Monday’s mass shooting in Highland Park, Illinois.
The suspect, Robert E. Crimo III, is believed to be responsible for seven deaths and over 30 injuries. Six victims were killed on Monday with a seventh dying of injuries sustained at the parade where the shooting took place.
Swalwell took a photo of Boebert holding a rifle and placed it side by side a photo of Crimo, writing, “Let’s start drawing straight lines,” in a post on his congressional Twitter account.
In an interview after the tweet, Boebert told Fox News Digital that she gets “that Eric Swalwell isn’t a fan of our Constitutional rights and is desperate to distract from his repeated political failures, but the only straight line that needs to be drawn is from Eric Swalwell to Fang Fang to the Chinese Communist Party.”
Boebert continued, “I will make sure that line gets drawn when we take back the House. Law-abiding gun owners won’t be smeared and disarmed every time a California failed presidential candidate rolls out of bed with a Chinese spy and tries to blame us for the conduct of others.”
Fang Fang was an individual who had been involved with Swalwell’s campaign and fundraising efforts, as well as the efforts of other California Democrats, between 2013 and 2015. She was believed to be a Chinese spy and abruptly left the country after Swalwell was contacted by the FBI about her activities.
In 2021, a Breitbart report revealed that the Biden administration had explicit and intimate details about the relationship between Fang and Swalwell. The report is classified, but its existence is known. Breitbart editor Alex Marlowe discussed the discovery on Tucker Carlson Tonight.
“Matt Boyle, our Washington political editor for Breitbart News, broke what are pretty explosive details about not just Swalwell’s sex life but the way our House intelligence committee is actually compromised,” he said.
“The only reason to keep this report a secret, to keep it classified, is to protect Eric Swalwell’s feelings, or maybe to save face for Pelosi or Adam Schiff… who’s covered for Swalwell this entire time,” he continued. “It’s not a joke. This is a deeply compromised individual and we don’t know the extent to which he’s been compromised or if there are other spies out there.”
Swalwell’s communications director Jessica Gail wrote in an email to Fox news, “We are a country of unrestricted weaponry where the most dangerous people have access to the most dangerous weapons. No elected leader in America fetishizes a dangerous person’s access to military-style weapons more than Rep. Boebert. And we are not going to stop calling her and her pro-killer colleagues out.”
