The frozen bodies of three men were discovered outside a friend’s home in Kansas City earlier this month, prompting the victims’ families to call for an investigation of suspected foul play.
The victims, identified as David Harrington, 37; Ricky Johnson, 38; and Clayton McGeeney, 36, had gone to watch the Kansas City Chiefs game at this friend’s house on January 7. Days later, their remains were found in the backyard, as reported by NewsNation.
The homeowner, who has been cooperating with law enforcement, stated that the men must have succumbed to the severe cold temperatures.
Family members and friends of the deceased, however, are not convinced by this explanation. After the men went missing, multiple attempts were made to contact the homeowner but to no avail. It was only when the fiancée of one of the victims broke into the house, after receiving no response, that the bodies were discovered.
Jennifer Marquez, Harrington’s mother, expressed her disbelief and frustration to Fox4.
“I’m furious. Everybody is furious,” she said. “Nobody believes this story. None of his friends, none of the families, none of us believe.”
As of now, the homeowner has not been charged with any crime. The police are awaiting a medical examiner’s report to officially determine the cause of death.
