Tom Brady threw cold water on the notion that he is friends with former President Donald Trump when he was asked about the matter in an interview that was recently published.
While talking about his historic career in an interview with Variety, Brady was asked if he was “still in touch” with Trump.
“No,” Brady responded. “I haven’t talked to him in a lot of years.”
The reporter noted that the perception was that “the two of you were close,” a notion that Brady quickly said was not accurate.
“I think [the media] just mischaracterized a lot,” Brady said. “And my personality isn’t ever one to insult anybody. I have plenty of my own flaws. I’m not here to point out anyone else’s flaws. There are things that I agree with. There are things that I don’t.”
“There are things I agree with my wife about. There are things that I don’t. I love her to death, but we don’t always see eye to eye,” he continued. “I don’t see eye to eye with anyone. And I’m not responsible for what other people say. I’m really responsible for what I say. So if people want to say things that I said or that I’m about, that’s up to them, and I’m not going to respond to all those things all the time either.”
When asked whether he would consider getting into politics, Brady said, “probably not,” citing how toxic the political environment has become.
Brady’s remarks come as Joe Rogan, host of “The Joe Rogan Experience,” slammed Trump again during a recent episode on his podcast, saying that Trump was “a man baby.”
