The 45th president said Judge Bruce Reinhart should immediately unseal the probable cause affidavit for the raid on his home.

“There is no way to justify the unannounced RAID of Mar-a-Lago, the home of the 45th President of the United States (who got more votes, by far, than any sitting President in the history of our Country!), by a very large number of gun-toting FBI Agents, and the Department of ‘Justice,’” former President Donald Trump posted on his Truth account. “But, in the interest of TRANSPARENCY, I call for the immediate release of the completely unredacted affidavit pertaining to this horrible and shocking BREAK-IN.”

Trump’s call for transparency is the opposite of President Joe Biden’s administration, which Monday asked a federal court to keep the affidavit sealed. Justice Department lawyers argue releasing the probable cause affidavit, which contains evidence and information justifying its issuance, would severely damage the government’s ongoing criminal investigation.

“If disclosed, the affidavit would serve as a roadmap to the government’s ongoing investigation, providing specific details about its direction and likely course, in a manner that is highly likely to compromise future investigative steps,” lawyers for the Justice Department wrote in a 13-page filing to U.S. Magistrate Judge Bruce Reinhart.

Trump also said Magistrate Reinhart should have recused himself from the case, according to a report in The Epoch Times. He probably based his opinion on Reinhart recusing himself in a case involving former President Bill Clinton. Also, the judge wrote scathing remarks about Trump on his Facebook page in the past, displaying a certain animus for Trump.

The former president’s call for transparency has been echoed by many followers of his social media account as well as by commenters on media sites.

Critics note the FBI has lied before in their relentless string of investigations against the former president. They note the reliance on the Steele Dossier, which senior FBI officials knew to be disinformation funded by Hillary Clinton’s 2016 election campaign.

Also, FBI attorney Kevin Clinesmith pleaded guilty to falsifying a request to the ultra-secret FISA court to extend a surveillance warrant against Trump’s campaign. His plea was the result of legal action brought by special prosecutor John Durham.
