President Donald Trump fired back at “The View” co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin on Tuesday, calling her a “joke” after she failed to follow through on a promise to wear a MAGA hat on air.
Griffin had pledged last year that she would don the signature red hat for an entire episode if Trump succeeded in bringing Israeli hostages home after taking office again, Resist the Mainstream previously reported.
Despite the hostages’ return this week, Griffin has not yet made good on her commitment.
When a reporter asked Trump about Griffin’s promise on Tuesday, the president questioned whether she would actually wear the hat.
After two episodes on Monday and Tuesday, Griffin had not appeared with the MAGA headwear.

The confrontation came as Trump addressed reporters about the successful hostage deal.
The president took the opportunity to discuss his former aide’s changing loyalty.
Trump then made a claim about Griffin’s past correspondence with him.
He stated that Griffin, who resigned as White House communications director in December 2020, had written him “beautiful” letters when she left and even after her departure.
Griffin has previously denied these claims, according to reporting from the Decider.
“She used to work for me,” Trump told reporters.
He went on to explain his theory about her transformation and what motivated it.
The president suggested that financial incentives played a role in Griffin’s shift.
“She got hired by ‘The View,’ and they gave her a couple of bucks, and she changed her view very quickly,” Trump said.
Trump continued his criticism by stating he never believed Griffin would succeed in her role at the White House.
He added that he never believed she had what it took in any way.
“I never thought she’d make it. I never thought she had what it took in any way. You know what that means,” the president stated, as outlined by Fox News.
His comments suggested doubts about her capabilities from the beginning.
Trump used Griffin’s situation to criticize the show itself and question its credibility.
“It just shows what a fraud ‘The View’ is. This woman gave me letters and statements. She said I was the greatest president in her lifetime,” he said.
The president’s remarks about the letters suggested a stark contrast between Griffin’s private communications and her public statements.
Trump portrayed this as evidence of her lack of authenticity.
The president then added a humorous caveat about the compliment regarding his presidential greatness.
“Now she’s not that old, so I don’t consider it a great compliment,” Trump said with characteristic humor.
Trump noted that he has received even more favorable comparisons since then.
“But I’ve had better. More recently, I’ve had the greatest president of them all. I like that much better,” he stated.
When asked if that assessment included George Washington and Abraham Lincoln, Trump confirmed it did.
The president embraced the comparison to America’s founding father and the Great Emancipator.
“Yes, it does. I said that I like that. So I think she’s a joke,” he concluded.
