Former President Donald Trump has endorsed Indiana Representative Greg Pence, R-6th, the older brother of his former vice president.
“Congressman Greg Pence is doing a great job representing the people of Indiana’s 6th Congressional District,” Trump wrote in a Friday statement posted to the Twitter account of his spokeswoman, Liz Harrington. “A former First Lieutenant in the U.S. Marine Corps, Greg continues to proudly serve our Country in the U.S. House of Representatives. Greg is working hard to reverse Joe Biden’s disastrous record of out-of-control Inflation and restore the respect our Country deserves from abroad.”
The 45th president called the older Pence strong on the border adding the congressman protects life, defends the Second Amendment and supports U.S. service members and veterans.
“Greg Pence has my Complete and Total Endorsement!” concluded Trump.
The 65-year-old Columbus native, first elected to Congress in 2018, is seeking reelection in the November 2022 midterm elections. “My priorities will always be creating jobs, growing the economy, protecting our borders, and providing for our fighting men and women—both during and after their service,” Pence states on his campaign website.
He has been a loyal supporter of the Trump-Pence agenda. The congressman served on the committees for transportation and infrastructure as well as the committee on foreign affairs from 2019 to 2020, notes a report from The Epoch Times. He currently serves as a member of the House Energy and Commerce Committee and two of its subcommittees, according to his official House website.
In a recent Energy Committee meeting attended by Department of Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm, he objected to the administration’s rush to make all transportation electric.
“I am also concerned that my colleagues in Congress are pushing the American people onto untested energy technologies that are not yet ready to sustain our current demands,” he told Secretary Granholm. “These endeavors, like electrifying our transportation sector, will not work for the rural Hoosiers that I represent in Indiana’s Sixth District.”
