Earlier this week, Former President Donald Trump hinted that he might opt for deporting Prince Harry if he were to become president again.
“I wouldn’t protect him. He betrayed the Queen,” Trump said, adding, “that’s unforgivable. He would be on his own if it were up to me.”
Trump made this suggestion during an interview with a British publication, the Daily Express, in the wake of Prince Harry’s court appearance over allegations of potentially deceiving U.S. immigration authorities about his past drug use, as revealed in his book Spare.
In the book, and during interviews promoting it, Harry provided detailed accounts for the first time about his recreational use of cocaine, magic mushrooms, and marijuana (illegal in Britain), in addition to psychedelics like ayahuasca.
Although the prince emphasized that he was not attempting to encourage the use of these substances, and that they were used as a form of therapy, he received criticism for the possibility of doing so.
The legal challenge has been pursued by the Heritage Foundation against Biden’s Department of Homeland Security.
“American citizenship is something that’s crossed my mind, but certainly not something that’s a high priority for me right now,” Prince Harry recently remarked in a statement to ABC News.
In his conversation with the Daily Express, Trump criticized President Biden for what he perceived as shielding Prince Harry from consequences, a stance he asserted he wouldn’t take himself.
Trump expressed fury towards the Biden administration for “protecting Harry” by maintaining confidentiality around his immigration application.
Speaking exclusively to the Daily Express US at the CPAC conference in Washington DC, just before addressing a fervent conservative audience, Trump reiterated his position, then further criticized the Royal Family for what he perceives as excessive leniency toward Prince Harry in light of his actions.
The Royal Family has been “too gracious” to Harry after “what he has done,” Trump remarked to the British outfit.
