President Donald Trump responded Sunday to news that Democratic nominee Joe Biden injured his foot while playing with one of his dogs.
“Get well soon!” the president tweeted in response to footage of Biden limping to his motorcade after being “treated for what his doctor called a sprained right ankle from a fall Saturday,” according to NBC News White House correspondent Kelly O’Donnell.

Biden was taken to the hospital after the 78-year-old reportedly hurt himself while playing with one of his German Shepherds.
As The Daily Wire reported:
Joe Biden reportedly hurt himself over the weekend while playing with one of his dogs and was sent to a medical specialist for evaluation.
“On Saturday Nov. 28, President-elect Biden slipped while playing with his dog Major, and twisted his ankle,” Biden’s office said in a statement. “Out of an abundance of caution, he will be examined this afternoon by an orthopedist.”
Biden “visited an orthopedist at Delaware Orthopaedic Specialists in Newark, Delaware, for an examination Sunday afternoon,” the Hartford Courant reported. “Reporters covering the president-elect were not afforded the opportunity to see Biden enter the doctor’s office, despite multiple requests.”
Biden, 78, is set to be the oldest president in U.S. history. His doctor since 2009, Dr. Kevin O’Connor, released a statement about Biden’s injury, saying that Biden “sustained a sprain of his right foot.”
Later reports clarified that Biden’s injury was more serious than first thought.
Joe Biden’s injuries stemming from a fall over the weekend appear to be more serious than initially thought as new imaging tests have revealed that he fractured his foot.
“President-elect Joe Biden sustained a sprain of his right foot,” Biden’s doctor, Dr. Kevin O’Connor, initially said in a statement on Sunday evening. “Initial X-rays are reassuring that there is no obvious fracture and he will be getting an additional CT for more detailed imaging.”
However followup tests revealed that Biden, 78, sustained fractures in his foot from the fall he sustained while playing with one of his dogs.
