Former President Donald Trump discussed a particular issue that agitates liberals during a recent interview on Real America’s Voice, suggesting that opposition to transgender ideology was one of the most distinct triggers for his political opponents.
“Democrats went crazy when I vowed America would no longer have men playing women’s sports,” Trump said. He further elaborated, “They really go crazy when I promise to stop the mutilation of your children.”
Trump described gender ideology as a “cult.” He recalled his actions during his tenure, “I previously signed federal legislation to protect children from it.” Trump then pointed out that the Biden administration reversed this legislation.
“They mutilate your children without your approval,” Trump said.
Trump expressed disbelief that a decade or so ago, the public would have been incredulous at the idea of children undergoing “sexual mutilation” without the knowledge or consent of their parents.
“You have to make that statement now,” Trump said, conveying his conviction that such actions are an “attack on our country.”
The former president also touched upon the topic of “men playing in women’s sports.” He expressed concern over women’s weightlifting records being surpassed by biological men, with these men outperforming the women’s records by significant margins.
During his presidency, Trump engaged in discussions with military generals regarding the topic of transgenderism within the armed forces.
“They say, ‘sir, it’s terrible,'” Trump said. He further elaborated on the disparity in medical treatments, noting that transgender service members have access to a vast array of drugs for their transition, while other soldiers face restrictions even for basic medications.
Current polling data suggests that Trump remains a dominant figure in the Republican primary. He boasts a substantial lead, with a margin of approximately 40 points, as reported by FiveThirtyEight.
