The U.S. tilted further towards totalitarianism when FBI agents raided former President Donald Trump’s Florida home Tuesday, searching for documents. Many Florida supporters were shocked by the fed’s raid and flocked to his home in support.
The assault on Trump’s home is remarkably different from how Justice Department officials handled a similar issue with Hillary Clinton. The FBI’s raid was allegedly searching for classified documents they thought Trump took to Florida. When the FBI was investigating Clinton about the 100+ top secret emails on her private email server, they requested interviews. No assault weapon-bearing goons busted open the doors of her Long Island, N.Y., home in the early hours to search her servers.
U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland, who was famously blocked from becoming a Supreme Court Justice by Republican senators, appears determined to find a felony to convict Trump of before he becomes a 2024 presidential candidate. Many Trump supporters in Florida were angered by the action and flocked to Mar-a-lago Tuesday morning.
Fox News provided a fuller report.
Dozens of supporters of former President Trump gathered outside his Mar-a-Lago estate on Monday after it was raided by FBI agents who were allegedly looking for classified documents.
The protestors traveled to Palm Beach, Florida, after the former president released a statement about the raid. Sources close to the matter told Fox News that the DOJ was investigating whether Trump had illegally taken classified documents to his private residence.
Fox News Digital’s Matt Leach spoke to several supporters who voiced their disapproval of the raid.
J.D. Kennon had traveled across the state of Florida to show support for the former president.
“As soon as I saw it, I drove here from Tampa. This is nuts,” Kennon said. “We all know what you’re trying to do, DOJ. You’re trying to create some kind of charge, so he’s not going to be able to run for re-election.”
Another Trump supporter, Mike Baffumo, expressed similar misgivings about the Justice Department.
“They’re going to do anything they can to get him. They’re terrified of him,” Baffumo said. “And it’s not because of any other reason than the policies that he supports: America First policies.”
