In a move apparently designed to prove allegiance to the woke puppetmasters, on Monday, Twitter suspended the account of Virginia Tech University swimmer Reka Gyorgy for opposing NCAA’s decision to allow biological males to compete in women’s swimming events.
Gyorgy’s particular issue is with University of Pennsylvania’s transgender swimmer Lia Thomas, who, as a male collegiate competitor, was ranked 462, but won the NCAA’s women’s swimming championships last week.
According to The Blaze, Gyorgy has “called for fans and fellow swimmers to boycott future competitions” if the NCAA does not revise competition guidelines.
Gyogry asserts, as many others have, that allowing biological males to compete effectively allows spots reserved for women competitors to be “stolen” by “biological male[s].”
“My finals spot was stolen by Lia Thomas, who is a biological male,” Gyorgy wrote, adding, “Until we all refuse to compete, nothing will change. Thanks for all the support retweets and follows I won’t stop fighting.”
As of early Monday afternoon, Gyogry’s Twitter account was suspended.
Accounts for Vladimir Putin, various spokespersons for the Taliban, the Ayatollah, Louis Farrakhan, Chinese propagandists, and dictators João Lourenço, Félix Antoine Tshilombo Tshisekedi, and Salva Kiir Mayardi are still active.
Twitter rules state: “Violence, harassment, and other similar types of behavior discourage people from expressing themselves, and ultimately diminish the value of global public conversation…Our rules are to ensure all people can participate in the public conversation freely and safely.”
Users on the platform quickly voiced their outrage at the suspension.
OnePlainGuy tweeted: “Réka György has now been suspended from Twitter for expressing her opinion. So quick count: NCAA wokeness 1, Reka 0; Big Tech wokeness 1, Reka 0. Message is clear. Sit down, shut up, and take it.”
https://twitter.com/Guy2Plain/status/1505957164048863233Ben Torres tweeted: Twitter suspended Reka Gyorgy’s account because she stated basic facts. I used to be somewhat sympathetic to the trans community but any shred of sympathy I had left has been thrown out the window.
The Blaze reports that Gyorgy, “a two-time ACC Champion and two-time NCAA All-American, previously urged the NCAA “to address the problem of biological males competing in female sports, arguing their inclusion is ‘hurting athletes, especially female swimmers.'”
