America’s mainstream media has been called a “mouthpiece for the DNC.” Not surprisingly, America’s MSM now ranks “dead last against 46 other countries for trust in media.”

Many connect the dots between MSM’s rise in prominence between 1995 and 2015 and the rise in government efforts to impinge personal liberties via mandates, shutdowns, lockdowns, guidelines, cancel culture, anti-gun legislation and censorship of conservative thought.

MSM’s sister, Big Tech, particularly the Facebook and Twitter platforms, have been accused of manipulating thought, promoting false narratives and censoring truth.

On Thursday, GETTR sounded the alarm on Twitter’s intent to introduce a “brutal new censorship campaign ahead of [the] U.S. midterms.”

GETTR’s warning noted that Twitter was about to “ratchet up censorship” on their platform and referred to their plans as “Orwellian measures” designed to push voters to embrace leftist views.

Under the “guise of protecting” community political discussions, Twitter has updated its Civic Integrity Policy, which is said to be the “harshest attack on freedom of expression yet.”

Twitter intends to train and empower employees to “prebunk”–preemptively debunk–what they deem to be “misleading narratives by proactively addressing topics they believe are allegedly subject to misinformation.” That is, they will determine what is true and preemptively create and push stories they believe support a particular narrative. This is far from the absolute free speech America’s founding fathers envisioned.

GETTR’s warning also noted that “just as the company banned the sharing of the New York Post’s reporting into the contents of Hunter Biden’s laptop ahead of the 2020 election – which was later proven to be real – Twitter will again squash the liking and sharing of tweets which they believe spread misleading information.”

Jason Miller, GETTR’s Chief Executive Officer, noted his outrage at Twitter’s designs:

“These disturbing new policies deliver a huge blow to democracy and free speech rights, not just in America, but around the world. We must not become numb to this kind of ideologically-motivated censorship which is a naked attempt from Twitter’s liberal executives to control the outcome of elections and the democratic process. Now more than ever, we need platforms like GETTR which have a firm commitment to protecting the public’s right to information online, no matter their political beliefs.”

Though Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg has said that “Facebook will not censor politicians,” the platform routinely blocks, labels, or censors those expressing conservative views and opinions opposing President Joe Biden’s leadership or initiatives.

Three weeks ago, Facebook slapped a warning label on the post of a prominent economist who warned that America had entered a recession, assigning his post a “partly false” rating.

For their part, Twitter executives are celebrating the success of their ability to shape public opinion, noting that by assigning “misleading information labels” to certain (conservative) posts, they have reduced engagement on those tweets by up to 15 percent.

GETTR representatives suggest that Twitter’s policies “should raise questions about whether Twitter is still a social media company eligible for Section 230 immunity when its employees will soon be involved in proactively ‘prebunking’ information.”

RTM is committed to integrity and truth in reporting. Though a conservative perspective is evident, stories are presented in ways that are fair and balanced. The global community deserves the truth — citizens should expect it from those who lead and expect it not to be censored by MSM and Big Tech.

RTM, GETTR, The Daily Wire, Gab, Breitbart, Telegram and Truth Social are a few of the platforms fighting back.
