In a blow to the Biden administration and the three-letter government agencies charged with guarding the health and welfare of Americans, the U.S. government has begun issuing compensation to individuals who suffered adverse reactions to the COVID-19 vaccine.
A quietly-released report notes that, to date, the government has approved compensation payments to three people through the Countermeasures Injury Compensation Program (CICP), an agency operating under the Department of Health and Human Services.
The Epoch Times reported that according to the Health Resources and Services Administration, one person suffering a severe allergic reaction received $2,019, and two people reporting myocarditis symptoms received differing amounts of $1,582 and $1,032.
Information regarding the identity of the defendants and plaintiffs has not been made public.
Under the CICP, those who experienced a vaccine-induced injury can be reimbursed for medical expenses and lost employment income. Wayne Rohde, the author of “The Vaccine Court,” told the Epoch Times that the award amounts are “unconscionable” but likely only the first step for the government and vaccine manufacturers in addressing the many with grievances.
“These amounts are so low that you can credibly assume that this was just only for unreimbursed medical expenses, and that’s it,” Rohde said. “It’s unconscionable what they’re doing, but that’s this program.”
In addition to many being angry at the low compensation awards, some report waiting an extraordinarily long time for their complaint to be processed:
The CICP notes that to receive compensation, a person must prove a “causal connection” between the vaccine taken and a serious physical injury, and that “connection” must be supported by “compelling, reliable, valid, medical and scientific evidence.”
The person must also prove that the injury resulted in unreimbursed medical expenses or lost income due to an inability to work. Relatives of people who died can seek survivor death benefits.
The CICP reports that the cap on death benefits is $423,000, and the cap on lost wages is $50,000.
A tax on each vaccine is funding National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program payments; CICP payments are made from appropriations from Congress.
The Epoch Times reported that “historic numbers of adverse events following vaccination have been reported to the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System, helping authorities determine that events like severe allergic shock, or anaphylaxis, and myocarditis are caused by the vaccines.”
