New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, along with fellow Democrats, faced significant vocal opposition during a press conference in New York City concerning the migrant crisis.
The event, situated outside a Manhattan hotel that has transformed into a relief center for asylum seekers, was disrupted by vociferous protesters. Their chants, dominated by calls to “send them back!” and demands to “close the border!” overshadowed the Democrats’ addresses.
“My name is Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. I’m here alongside Rep. Adriano Espaillat, and we’re incredibly thrilled and excited to be here,” Ocasio-Cortez began, only to be met with escalating noise from the crowd outside the Roosevelt Hotel. She persisted, highlighting the diverse representation at the event.

“We have geographic diversity here, including representatives from California, Texas, Illinois and New Jersey,” Ocasio-Cortez remarked, but her words did nothing to quell the outcries of the protesters there gathered in defiance of the politicians who welcomed the flood of third world migrants.
“Close the border! Close the border! Respect the constitution AOC! I am your constituent!” a man exclaimed, his voice amplified by a megaphone. Nevertheless, Ocasio-Cortez persisted in her futile attempts to communicate.

“And what we seek to do is to make sure that all the resources are necessary and that we are joining with the city and state.” Yet, her words were again interrupted by the same man, who emphatically declared, “Illegal immigration is not right! Respect the constitution, close the border!”
