Fox News anchor Chris Wallace quickly corrected Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar Sunday when the Trump administration member refused to refer to Joe Biden as the “president-elect.”

As President Donald Trump continues to battle, most Republican lawmakers have refused to acknowledge Biden as the president-elect. In fact, according to the Washington Post, only 27 congressional Republicans have acknowledged Biden as the winner of the election. That means nearly 90% of Republican lawmakers have not said who won the election.

While interviewing Azar on “Fox News Sunday,” Wallace interrupted Azar when the Health and Human Services secretary referred to Biden as the former vice president.

Azar’s reference to Biden as “former Vice President Biden” came after Wallace asked if America would “be in much better shape” had Trump embraced face masks in the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic “like Joe Biden is right now.”

“I welcome Vice President Biden to the club. Since the middle of April, the president’s guidelines for re-opening have called for masks—” Azar responded before being cut off by Wallace.

“He’s the president-elect, sir,” Wallace interjected, referring to Biden. “He’s the president-elect.”

Azar, though, continued with his response during which he encouraged Americans to wear face masks to protect themselves from COVID-19. Once Azar had finished talking, however, Wallace chided him again.

“But first of all, it’s the President-Elect Joe Biden, Secretary Azar,” Wallace shot back.

“And secondly, the fact is the president said on the first day, April 30, that he wasn’t going to wear a mask. He didn’t wear a mask in public for three months until July. And just last night at that rally in Georgia, not only didn’t he wear a mask — but I was watching the rally — thousands of people packed together, none of which I could see were wearing a mask. That is a direct violation of what the CDC and what you are recommending,” the Fox News anchor continued.

In response to the Washington Post report about the Republican lawmakers who have acknowledged Biden as the president-elect, Trump reacted on Saturday by asking the media to “send me a list” of the “RINOS,” an acronym meaning “Republican in name only.”

Watch:

Chris Wallace repeatedly correcs HHS Secretary Alex Azar when he refers to Joe Biden as "vice president."
