A new CNN poll shows that a majority of Americans believe President Joe Biden winning re-election would be bad for America.
According to the poll, 66% of Americans — or two-thirds! — believe that Biden winning a second term in the White House would be a “disaster” or “setback” for the nation.
Just 33% of respondents said Biden winning re-election would be a “step forward” (27%) or a “triumph” (7%).
“Horrible news, horrible for Joe Biden,” CNN anchor Jake Tapper reacted on his show Thursday.
Biden’s approval rating may explain why such a large number of Americans believe he should not win re-election.
The poll found that just 35% of Americans approve of Biden, while 57% disapprove — a seismic 22-point gap. Those figures are by far the worst for Biden in CNN’s poll since his presidency began in January 2021.

“But look at this decline among independents from December, 35% favorable in December — he is now down to 26% favorable with independents,” he continued. “Critical voters in the electorate, Jake. That’s a big warning sign.”
