Democratic officials are increasingly unable to provide good answers to basic questions such as, “What is a woman?” “Can men give birth?” and “Is the border secure?” On Monday, Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-MS) refused to answer several direct questions regarding America’s southern border.
Thompson was confronted by Fox News national correspondent Bill Melugin, who asked a simple yes or no question: Is the southern border secure?
The question was prompted, in part, by both Vice President Kamala Harris and Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas claiming that the “border is secure.”
Melugin asked Thompson for his assessment: “Is the border secure?”
Thompson tried to defer answering, claiming he was too busy to answer, saying, “I have to go give a speech.”
Melugin, noticing that Thompson’s reply was seven times longer than the yes or no reply he could have given to his question, asked the question again.
Thompson replied. “Did you hear me?”
Melugin fired back: “I heard you. It’s a quick question. Is the border secure?”
Thompson refused to answer and walked away.
Concerns about unfettered and DNC-assisted immigration into the country has become a priority issue for Americans as the midterms approach. The Daily Caller reported that the “number of encounters at the border more than doubled since President Joe Biden assumed office in January 2021.”
Many have tied the influx of migrants to increased crime, increased drug and human trafficking activity and a surge in deaths at the border.
Reportedly, Eagle Pass, a border town in Texas, has run out of space to bury migrants and is requesting additional freezers and plots of land to store and bury the unidentified deceased.
In September, Vice President Kamala Harris claimed to NBC News’ Chuck Todd that the southern “border is secure” and blamed the border situation on former President Donald Trump.
DHS Secretary Majorkas and White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre have also claimed the “border is secure.”
