The transgender issue is not going away and looks to be a key issue in the coming 2024 election.
The issue raised its ugly head again during a conversation on Fox News’ “The Five.” Co-host Greg Gutfeld challenged left-leaning co-host Jessica Tarlov on the issue.
Bringing the issue forward again was a recent story of “nonbinary” men flooding a tech convention designed to “help women seeking careers in technology,” according to AnitaB.org.
Convention organizers specifically invited biological women and “nonbinary” workers to attend.
Gutfeld mocked the fact that convention organizers were outraged that non-nonbinary men attended the conference.
Tarlov pushed back, maintaining that women need their safe places and deserve specialized conference opportunities to advance in the workplace.
Many were amused by the heated back-and-forth exchange of views.
Cullen White, the Chief Impact Officer and lead coordinator of the conference was not amused. During the conference, he took the podium and scolded the men who “lied” about their sexual identity to gain entrance to the Sept. 27 event.
“Simply put, some of you lied when you registered,” White told the men. “And as evidenced by the stacks and stacks of resumes you’re passing out, you did so because you thought you could come here and take space to try and get a job.”
Commenting on the event, Tarlov called the participation of men in the conference that was meant for women and nonbinary men “unacceptable.”
Gutfeld challenged her position, claiming that she has not been outspoken on the issue of biological males participating in women’s sporting events.
“You seem to not mind when men are competing against women in the pool,” Gutfeld said, referring to Lia Thomas, a biological male who dominated the NCAA women’s swimming championships last year.
Gutfeld pressed: “Why are you mad about tech, because it affects you?”
Tarlov rejected Gutfeld’s claim, saying, “I literally said that biological men competing in women’s sports is … unacceptable. I’ve been consistent.”
Tarlov added: “Lia Thomas has no place on that team, women shouldn’t be losing scholarships to these guys.”
Tarlov then qualified her statement, saying, “But that’s not every issue that affects people in the trans or non-binary community.”
Gutfeld, seeing that Tarlov’s condemnation of biological men intruding into spaces designed for women was not unequivocal, said: “The non-binary community, okay. I’d love to know more about that, Jessica,”
Gutfeld added: “What defines a nonbinary community? Somebody deciding one day they’re going to be this gender or that gender? Why should you be the arbiter of that? Why do I have to agree with that? I’m just curious.”
The conference issue was also referenced on “Outnumbered” on Wednesday. Co-host Emily Compagno had no sympathy for disgruntled conference organizers, saying:
”What do you expect? Of course, you’re going to have the whole camel eventually get into the tent because you have been totally fine with its nose going in there.”
