Fox News host Greg Gutfeld came after former Vice President Al Gore for his comments on Monday in which he compared climate change deniers to the police officers who refused to enter the room where Salvador Ramos was killing children and teachers at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas.

Gutfeld went as far as to say that Gore’s comments made him want to punch the former VP in the face.

Cohost Katie Pavlich began with a comment on a recent CNN opinion piece stating that Americans should ditch their air conditioning to combat climate change, which pivoted the conversation towards Gore and his comments.

“I don’t think we will be trying that with temperatures reaching 100 degrees, but it is Al Gore who is sucking the most oxygen with this most ridiculous comparison,” Pavlich said, playing the clip of Gore.

“The climate deniers are really, in some ways, similar to all of those almost 400 law enforcement officers in Uvalde, Texas, who were waiting outside an unlocked door while the children were being massacred. They heard the screams. They heard the gunshots. Nobody stepped forward,” Gore said during a Sunday appearance on ABC’s “This Week.”

Pavlich turned to Gutfeld for his response to the clip.

“Maybe all those massages he got went to his head,” Gutfeld joked.

Becoming more serious, Gutfield continued, “He is so profoundly disgusting and not just for what he just said, but just for …” Gutfield paused before continuing, “the original offense is mapping climate denier off Holocaust denier. So already, when they started doing this business a couple of years ago, they were comparing skeptics, skeptics to Nazis. So comparing them to the police who were not able to save those kids, that’s actually a step up.”

“So it’s like — every time he says the holocaust denier, I want to punch him in the face. Because it is so deeply offensive. Because we know what he is doing. We know the undercurrent, what he is trying to do, is he is trying to link you to Holocaust denial. He is the scummiest thing,” Gutfeld concluded.

On Sunday, Gore also called for the filibuster to be eliminated. “The same reason it is seemingly impossible for the Congress to pass legislation banning these weapons of war, these assault rifles that are being used to murder children in classrooms and create hundreds of mass casualty events already this year and that’s getting worse, the same reason we can’t pass legislation to, for example, to reinstate the ban on assault weapons is the same reason that we can’t pass climate legislation: we have the minority government,” said Gore.

“We have the filibuster still, which ought to be eliminated,” he added. “We have big money playing much too large a role in our politics, lobbyists for the fossil fuel industry, and they’re still running all of these advertisements trying to convince people that ‘it’s not that bad’ or ‘they’ve got this, don’t worry about it.’ We have got to rise to this challenge.”
