In a heated exchange on Fox News’ “The Five,” host Greg Gutfeld vehemently disagreed with co-host Harold Ford Jr.’s suggestion that former President Donald Trump was deserving of all four indictments against him.
The indictments in question stem from a grand jury in Fulton County, Georgia, which indicted Trump and 18 others for their alleged efforts to overturn the 2020 presidential election results in the state.
Ford Jr. posited that Trump’s status as a presidential candidate does not exempt him from criminal charges and that the indictments are legally justified. Gutfeld, in response, questioned the motivations behind the charges.
“You don’t think this is totally over the top? As a judge, four? I mean, even when — everything you say makes sense except it’s all bulls–t! It’s all nonstop, we know this is designed to banish an isolated, destroy a political outsider who predicted this. Chuck Schumer, remember this?” Gutfeld exclaimed. “Don’t mess with the intel agencies. They’ll arrest your team and keep it off the field.”
Ford Jr. pressed on, asking Gutfeld if he believed Trump had done anything wrong.
“He is probably one of the most troubling, consequential figures in history, but no. He doesn’t deserve any of this,” Gutfeld responded.
Judge Jeanine Pirro, another panelist, pointed out that the indictments were only issued after Trump announced his presidential campaign in November. Ford argued that had Trump been indicted sooner, prosecutors would have faced accusations of not conducting a thorough investigation.
“Oh, baloney!” Pirro retorted. “It doesn’t take two and a half years to get indicted!”

Dana Perino, co-host of the show, tried to defuse the situation, suggesting that the timing of Trump’s indictments would have been criticized regardless.
The charges against Trump and his associates include violations of Georgia’s Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act, solicitation of violation of oath by a public officer, conspiracy to commit forgery in the first degree, and conspiracy to commit false statements and writings.
Additionally, Trump faces charges from New York and Washington, D.C., including a 34-count indictment for allegedly falsifying business records related to payments made to former porn actress Stormy Daniels before the 2016 election. Special Counsel Jack Smith also indicted Trump for storing classified documents in his Mar-a-Lago residence and for purportedly conspiring to overturn the 2020 election on January 6, 2021.
Trump has pleaded not guilty to all charges in the first three indictments.
