Following his detention at the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Switzerland, over the weekend, Human Events Daily Host Jack Posobiec detailed what happened in an interview on the “Charlie Kirk Show.”
Posobiec reports that he was questioned and his work obstructed from the moment he arrived in Davos.
He was surprised when Police asked for his passport and press credentials, questioned what Turning Point USA was and scrutinized why he and his team were in Davos.
Posobiec told Kirk that without explanation, authorities asked him to turn over video and tried to separate him from his crew — he refused.
“Never once did they explain to us why we were targeted,” Posobiec explained. “I want to be clear on something, we had already given our name, our passport, and our press pass about an hour prior.”
Posobiec lamented: “these police have the ability, if they want to, to confiscate things from us … confiscate our cards, start deleting things, and before we can even get legal involved, they could have taken down all of the footage that we’ve already filmed today for this project … this docuseries to go along with the book that’s coming out that’s called ‘The Great Global Reset.'”
Posobiec continued: “We’ve been filming all day for this, we’ve been doing live vids, my own Human Events podcast.”
Not concealing his anger, Posobiec said, “the idea that they would come in, take down all of the stuff that we were doing, delete it, and then potentially detain me even further.”
Posobiec noted how disconcerting it can be to be a reporter or newscaster in a different country:
“My wife wasn’t with me; my brother wasn’t with me, we didn’t know where everybody was. I didn’t even know when the next time I’d be able to get content out, because, again, they do not have the First Amendment here; they do not have freedom of the press the same way we do in the United States, with that kind of latitude.”
Posobiec concluded his interview with a direct message to WEF chairman Klaus Schwab, saying: “Mr. Schwab, we’re not going anywhere.”
