Hosts of “The Five” on Fox Thursday discussed recent poll results about President Joe Biden and his dismal approval numbers.
The Fox broadcasters were referring to a recently released poll from Quinnipiac University with President Biden’s approval sitting at 33 percent.
“One year in and the only thing Biden is shutting down is his very own presidency,” opined Greg Gutfeld. “What’s worse is the vice-president isn’t sounding very confident about 2024.”
Pollsters also asked if respondents would like to see Donald Trump run for president, in 2014, and 33 percent answered affirmatively. That number prompted Gutfeld to remark Biden’s numbers are now lower than Trump’s. “Imagine if the press coverage were equal between Trump and Biden,” Gutfeld said. “He wouldn’t even be in office.”
“He’s lower than Trump and he has the media on his side.”
Red Voice Media reported that when the poll was released, inflation hit a 40-year high and Biden’s voter reform agenda was buried by his own party members.
Joe Watters followed by listing a number of things people like better than Biden.
“Dentists are more popular than Biden, bugs are more popular than Joe Biden,” Watters said. “The Confederate flag is more popular than the president. Broccoli is more popular than the President. Donald Trump – two weeks after January 6 — more popular than Joe Biden.”
“And Nancy Pelosi – by a hair – is more popular than Joe Biden,” concluded Watters.
“By an eyebrow,” interjected Gutfeld, which drew a chuckle. He then asked Perino for her thoughts about a theory he thought up recently. He said Trump drove the conversation on Twitter while Biden allows the loudest progressive voices on Twitter to drive the narrative. She agreed and expanded on his thought.
“The best thing that could happen to Biden is if Twitter allowed Trump back on,” she agreed.
Host Dana Perino described a very bad, not-so-good, week for Biden.
“It started when he went down to Georgia and got stood up by Stacey Abrams,” Perino began. She remarked about senatorial snubs regarding Build Back Better and the filibuster debate. Another senator also objected to him labeling so many Americans “racist” in his Georgia speech.
“There’s no mercy rule in politics,” she noted ruefully, “but they might wish for one.”
