On Friday, Megyn Kelly celebrated MSNBC’s sudden decision to cut ties with controversial weekend host Tiffany Cross, calling the now-former anchor as “the most racist person in all of television.”
Kelly talked about Cross’ removal from the network during an episode of her SiriusXM podcast “The Megyn Kelly Show,” which featured conservative radio host Dana Loesch.
“I have some good news!” Kelly began, “Tiffany Cross, the most racist person in all of television, and in particular on MSNBC, just got fired. Poor Tiffany.”
The New York Post reported that Cross is leaving MSNBC after she repeatedly made incendiary remarks while on air, despite warnings from network executives. The network decided not to renew Cross’ contract, ending her two year tenure with MSNBC.
Variety broke the news of Cross’ departure, and quoted sources who claimed that the anchor’s relationship with MSNBC “was becoming frayed.” Cross frequently clashed with personalities at other networks, and MSNBC reportedly claimed that her behavior “did not meet the standards of MSNBC or NBC News.”
Kelly quoted from the Variety report before going on to mention a few of Cross’ “greatest hits” at MSNBC, including an instance last month when she argued that inherent racism among the NFL’s “white owners” and “white coaches” was the root cause for why Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa suffered a head injury while on field.
Mike McDaniel, the Dolphins head coach who faced criticism for allowing the quarterback to play despite suffering an earlier head injury, is biracial, and Tagovailoa himself was born in Hawaii and his parents are from the South Pacific island of Samoa.
Kelly slammed Cross at the time, calling her a “dumbass” and first referred to her as “the most racist person on television” after her remarks about Tagovailoa.
Cross had also called Republican lawmakers “white supremacists” after Kyle Rittenhouse was acquitted of murder by a Wisconsin jury, which Kelly cited among other examples.
“I could give you 10 more that are way worse than any of these, that’s just what we pulled in a simple Google search. So joy, oh, joy, Tiffany Cross is gone,” Kelly said.
“I had to really think hard and remember who she was,” Loesch said.
“Nobody knows,” Kelly replied. She said later in the segment, “I tip my hat to MSNBC and NBC for doing the right thing, because as I said, she was the most racist person on television.”
