MSNBC host Nicolle Wallace eagerly discussed former President Donald Trump’s journey to a notorious Atlanta jail for his booking, barely able to contain her excitement as she described the jail’s history of stabbings and fatalities.
Trump made his way to the Fulton County Jail for booking on Thursday after an indictment by District Attorney Fani Willis concerning alleged interference in the 2020 election in Georgia.
“Just a few minutes ago, Donald Trump, the disgraced ex-president, the frontrunner for the Republican nominee for president, four times indicted, departed his golf club in Bedminster, New Jersey. He’s en route to Fulton County, Georgia,” Wallace informed her audience, as footage of Trump’s motorcade en route to Newark’s airport played.
Wallace, known for her shift from a Republican spokesperson to a left-leaning commentator over the past decade, elaborated on the jail’s conditions.
“He will surrender himself for processing at an overcrowded jail with a reputation for violence and neglect,” Wallace continued. “A jail that is accustomed to holding defendants facing charges up to and including violent crimes, where stabbings are frequent, and actually three people have lost their lives over the last month.”
“That jail is where the disgraced ex-president of these United States is heading right now,” Wallace remarked, her demeanor suggesting a mix of amusement and disbelief.

Wallace’s strong stance against the Republican party is well-documented. She has been an ardent supporter of the Russiagate conspiracy theory, likened Republican governors to heinous criminals, accused the Trump administration of severe human rights violations, and expressed worshipful admiration for Anthony Fauci. Her comments about Trump’s jail booking garnered attention, especially from conservative circles.
Following his booking on Thursday night, Trump conveyed his discomfort about the booking process in remarks to Fox News.
“They insisted on a mugshot and I agreed to do that,” he stated. “This is the only time I’ve ever taken a mugshot.”
