A token display of strength by Mexican police may be the fiercest resistance a surge of migrants face before illegally entering America.
Fox News Reporter Griff Jenkins posted a video of the clash between a massive, organized migrant caravan and Mexican Interior Police. The surging migrants parted the wall of police wearing protective gear and shields standing between them and the border like a hot knife through butter.
Organizers of the caravan told Fox News that there are more than 2,000 people in their group trekking from Tapachula, Mexico to America. Tapachula is in the southern part of Mexico, on the border with Guatemala.
Activists who defend the rights of immigrants in the caravans told Univision they did not care about the announcement that they were being watched by DHS intelligence units.
“I don’t care,” said Irineo Mujica, director of Pueblo Sin Fronteras, who is leading the migrant caravan. “The Biden government should detect and prosecute people who extort, who abuse the rights of migrants and abide by the causes that generate the flight from their countries of origin.”
Customs and Border Protection (CBP) released data Friday evidencing more than 1.7 million migrant encounters in 2021, breaking records. There were more than 192,000 Southwest Land Border encounters in September alone, signaling that the border crisis that has dogged the Biden/Harris administration is far from over. CBP has encountered more single adults in 2021 than they did in the last 3 years combined.
Biden has pledged a massive amount of U.S. taxpayer money to combat the poverty, violence, and southern hemisphere corruption he cites as root problems of illegal migration.
“Money is not going to solve the problem,” said Mujica, adding that most of the migrants in the caravan don’t want to go to America and would prefer to stay in Mexico. “Mexico is a good place to live, a good place to work.”
Jenkins posted a video of Mujica blasting Mexico, saying they should do more for the migrants, like giving them papers to stay and work in Mexico.
