A Sunday heckler at a New York City parade celebrating Israel got an earful from former Mayor Rudy Giuliani.
If the guy thought the mayor who brought the Big Apple through 9/11 was going to wilt under a little smack talking, he was wrong.
The feisty veteran politician would have got right up in the guy’s face except there were metal barricades separating them. Giuliani moved as close as he could to the unidentiifed male to give him a tongue-lashing from a master of the art.
Giuliani was marching behind current New York City Mayor Eric Adams in the parade, hosted by the Jewish Community Relations Council of New York. The former mayor responded when someone on the sidelines started yelling at him. He abandoned his parade position to verbally lambast the mouthy man. A reporter for the independent Jewish publication The Forward captured part of the exchange and posted it to his Twitter account.
“Marching behind Mayor Adams is @RudyGiuliani who gets into a shouting match with a Democrat,” reporter Jacob Kornbluh stated. ‘You are a jackass… You are a brainwashed asshole… you are probably as demented as Biden,’ Giuliani told the guy.”
It is not clear from the video what the individual said to Giuliani that provoked him but it was probably violence or safety-related, based on his response. “Crime was down 65% under me,” Giuliani said, adding, “it’s up 40% under him.” He was contrasting his record with that of the current mayor.
“You bet,” a woman in the crowd agreed. “You’re right.”
“I reduced crime, you jackass!” continued the former mayor.
Another crowd member in the vicinity yelled out in support, calling Giuliani “the best.”
“You are a brainwashed asshole,” Giuliani yelled at the guy as he started walking away. When he turned to add a final remark, the heckler must have called Giuliani a class act because the former mayor replied, “You’re right, I am a class act.”
Having said that, he lobbed a parting shot at his antagonist. “You are probably as demented as Biden!” concluded Giuliani.
