Two fans jostled actor Tom Hanks and his wife leaving a Manhattan restaurant Wednesday, prompting a Hanks F-bomb and shove.
The actor — famous for his nice-guy persona on and off the screen — angrily reacted to overeager fans who almost knocked down his wife, Rita Wilson. Fans swarmed the Hollywood couple as they walked from the restaurant exit to their waiting vehicle.
A number of musclemen acted as if they were trying to provide security to the elderly actor and his wife, but it was like herding cats. “How ya doing?” one man said before telling Hanks to watch out.
“Watch out,” urged another of the men as he addressed the flocking fans. “Move, move.”
The fluid constant movement of fans and security around the actor and his wife ended with Ms. Wilson almost falling down after being jostled. “Whoa, guys,” she told fans, “stop it!” Hanks verified his wife was not physically harmed before he angrily turned to address the responsible fans.
“My wife?” he angrily shouted at them before placing his hands on the chests of two men closest to his wife and pushed them back.
“Back the f–k up!” he ordered them.

As the fans backed up slightly, one of the men seemingly providing Hanks security asked the crowd, “What are you all doing?”
“Knocking over my wife,” responded the irate actor.
“Yeah, they’re bugging,” the man agreed as he tried to lead Hanks and his wife to their vehicle idling at the curb.
Some of the fans shouted out, “Sorry about that, Tom,” as he was being escorted the remaining few feet to his car.
Retired NBC executive Mike Sington posted a video of the incident on his Twitter account. Sington’s video has already received almost 700,000 views. One follower commented, “folks are out of control…give folks their space…move.”
“They earned that ‘Back the f–k off’ tbh,” cultural critic Mikki Kendall tweeted.
