Amid allegations that the FBI is “overstepping its authority” and harassing supporters and associates of former President Donald Trump, a New Jersey woman claims FBI agents showed up at her door saying they received an “anonymous tip” that she was at the Jan. 6 Capitol riot — a serious charge as the FBI have arrested 535 people in connection with the Jan. 6 event, several of whom are still in jail, ineligible for bail, awaiting trial.
The woman, Lisa Gallagher, shared her “terrifying” experience with Fox News’ Tucker Carlson on Monday evening, noting that she was awakened by her frightened daughter who told her there were three armed FBI agents at the door.
According to the interview, Gallagher was not at the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, nor was she in Washington, D.C., at that time.
Carlson began the interview by stating incredulously, “You have not committed a crime of any kind …”you weren’t even at the Capitol on Jan. 6.”
Gallagher affirmed that what Carlson said was correct. She noted that she is a supporter of former President Donald Trump, that she had expressed support for Trump on Facebook and there was a Trump lawn flag in the front of her property, but argued that those are not criminal offenses.
“I was terrified,” recalled Gallagher. “I called my husband; I was crying, my knees were shaking. And even though I knew I’d done nothing wrong, after seeing Joe Biden’s speech the night before, I thought, ‘…this is political.'”
Gallagher told Carlson that in her “frightened” state, she thought, “They can take me out of here in handcuffs. … Am I not coming home?”
Frightened, she met the agents in front of her home and said, “Gentlemen, you are scaring me.”
The agents responded by informing Gallagher “they had received an anonymous tip that I was at the Capitol on January 6.”
Carlson interjected: “the FBI knew it couldn’t be true since they have facial recognition software and lacked evidence.”

Gallagher reiterated that the agents said, “it was an anonymous tip, but they won’t tell me anything else.”
The FBI’s Newark office on Tuesday afternoon didn’t immediately respond to requests for comment.
According to The Blaze, off camera and before his interview with Gallagher, “Carlson noted that Gallagher and her husband showed the agents her daily calendars from January 2021 and ‘finally convinced the agents that she wasn’t at the Capitol that day.”
Carson said, “Imagine armed FBI agents showing up at your house because you supported Trump on Facebook and demanding records of your whereabouts on a date nearly two years ago.”
Carlson called the FBI’s actions “Soviet — and there’s no other word for it” and noted that the “same thing is happening to other supporters of the former president.”
Carlson continued: “The point — and this is a theme in every authoritarian regime … was to use government agents to intimidate enemies of the regime on the basis of an anonymous tip.”
