On Thursday, the White House dismissed whistleblower charges that the Biden administration and the Dept. of Justice had mishandled a probe into the financial dealings of Hunter Biden, including possible inappropriate kickbacks to various Biden family members.
President Biden has assured the public that the investigation into Hunter’s business dealings has moved forward “free from any political interference.”
White House spokesman Ian Sams told Fox News Digital on Thursday:
“Since he took office and consistent with his campaign promise that he would restore the independence of the Justice Department when it comes to decision-making in criminal investigations …
Sams continued: “President Biden has made clear that this matter would be handled independently by the Justice Department, under the leadership of a U.S. Attorney appointed by former President Trump, free from any political interference by the White House.”
Sams added: “He has upheld that commitment.”
An IRS criminal supervisor now seeking whistleblower protection claimed the Biden administration is mishandling the investigation into Hunter Biden, citing “clear” conflicts of interest and “preferential treatment.”
The whistleblower charged the White House with “improperly infecting decisions and protocols that would normally be followed by career law enforcement professionals in similar circumstances if the subject were not politically connected.”
The White House asserts Trump-appointed Delaware U.S. Attorney David Weiss has properly coordinated the investigation.
According to a report by Fox News last week, a former Obama administration official and whistleblower claimed that President Joe Biden is a “criminal,” and the FBI has ignored his assertions of criminal activity.
Mike McCormick, who served as a stenographer at the White House for 15 years, claims that Joe Biden was involved in a “kickback scheme” when serving as vice president.
Reportedly, the kickbacks began when Hunter Biden moved into executive roles in foreign businesses, though he had no special training or experience to qualify him to serve in those roles.
McCormick’s records reportedly show that foreign officials were invited to the White House for business-related meetings more than 80 times when Biden was vice president.
The White House denies McCormick’s claims and note that on his first day as president, Biden issued an ethics pledge executive order designed to “uphold the independence of law enforcement and precludes improper interference with investigative or prosecutorial decisions of the Department of Justice.”
Nevertheless, the IRS whistleblower and former stenographer allege malfeasance.
The IRS whistleblower’s attorney, Mark D. Lytle, wrote leaders in the House of Representatives and Senate to note his client has been overseeing the “ongoing and sensitive investigation of a high-profile, controversial subject since early 2020 and would like to make protected whistleblower disclosures to Congress.”
Lytle revealed that his client has “already made protected disclosures internally at the IRS, through counsel to the U.S. Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration, and to the Department of Justice, Office of Inspector General.”
Lytle indicated the disclosures “contradict sworn testimony to Congress by a senior political appointee” and reveal the administration’s “failure to mitigate clear conflicts of interest in the ultimate disposition of the case.”
New House Speaker Kevin McCarthy has been investigating Hunter Biden’s business dealings in earnest since Republicans took control of the House in January.
A newly empowered congressional committee is investigating whether Biden family business dealings with entities connected to foreign governments constitute a risk to U.S. national security.
