Two children adopted into the same New York family discovered they are biologically related, according to a report from Breitbart News.
Angela Laffin’s daughter Victoria told her adoptive mother during a recent telephone call, “Me and Frank are brother and sister!”
Angela Laffin had adopted both Victoria and Frank as infants, so she was confused by her daughter’s statement.
“I said to her, ‘Of course you’re brother and sister. I raised you,'” Laffin said, according to a report from “Good Morning America”.
“No, Mom. You don’t understand,” her daughter clarified, “we’re biological siblings.”
This astonishing discovery came to light after the family underwent a DNA test.
“I was shaking when I read the results,” the daughter said. “I was definitely emotional. The fact that I’ve been living my entire life with my biological sibling and had no idea?”
Angela and her husband, Dennis Laffin, had adopted Victoria and Frank less than two years apart. The couple also has a biological son named Nick. Their journey to adoption began after facing challenges in having children.
Frank entered their lives in 2002, having been found as a newborn in a diaper bag outside a day care center.
Almost two years later, Angela, upon contacting a local adoption agency, learned about another infant abandoned in a hospital bathroom on Staten Island.
Without hesitation, she welcomed Victoria, who is now flourishing in college, into her family. Frank, reportedly has aspirations of opening a gym in the future.
After receiving the DNA test results, the son sent a touching message to his parents, saying, “I love you and daddy … that day I was left (was) the best day of my life because it led me to you two.”
