Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) is facing new scrutiny after a video from a formal event circulated online alongside claims that she appeared intoxicated.
The clip shows Crockett wearing a sequined evening gown at a banquet-style gathering with blue and purple lighting.
Independent reporter Nicholas Ballasy approached Crockett during the event and attempted to question her about controversy surrounding her recent decision to honor singer Chris Brown.
In the video, Crockett is seen holding the arm of a man in a dark suit as she turns toward the camera and continues walking through the room.
Some social media users described the congresswoman as appearing unsteady or “drunk.”
However, there is no confirmed evidence establishing that Crockett had consumed alcohol or was intoxicated at the event.
The source noted that the video had been viewed hundreds of thousands of times as users debated Crockett’s condition.
Ballasy’s original post focused on Crockett declining to answer questions about her Sept. 12 appearance at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
During that event, Crockett joined Texas state Rep. Venton Jones onstage during Chris Brown and Usher’s joint tour.
The lawmakers announced a Congressional Record recognition of the artists’ careers.
The decision to honor Brown drew criticism because of his past legal history.
Brown pleaded guilty in 2009 to felony assault involving Rihanna.
He has also faced other legal allegations involving violence in the years since.
Jones later apologized for participating in the recognition.
Crockett, however, has not publicly commented on the controversy, according to the source.
The newly circulated video shows Ballasy attempting to raise that issue while Crockett moves through the formal event.
Crockett did not stop to answer the reporter’s questions.
The event where the video was recorded has not been publicly identified beyond the formal setting visible in the footage.
Crockett has also not issued a public statement addressing claims about her appearance or physical condition in the clip.
The congresswoman represents Texas’s 30th Congressional District.
She also recently lost the 2026 Democratic Senate primary to James Talarico.
The video surfaced during the same week that Crockett’s leadership PAC, FIRE PAC, announced a new list of 24 political endorsements, per Trending Politics.
Talarico was not included among those endorsements.
Crockett has instead focused much of her political activity on down-ballot Texas House races and county-level contests.
After losing the Senate primary, she said she would continue working to elect Democrats across the ballot.
However, Crockett has repeatedly indicated that she does not plan to campaign alongside Talarico.
The latest video now adds another controversy to a politically active period for the Texas Democrat.
Critics online have focused on both Crockett’s appearance in the footage and her refusal to address questions about the Chris Brown recognition.
Still, the claims that Crockett was intoxicated remain unverified.
The footage itself shows her walking through the event while being followed by a reporter, but it does not establish what, if anything, she had consumed beforehand.
For now, Crockett has not publicly responded to the speculation surrounding the clip or to renewed questions about the congressional recognition involving Brown.
