Representative Lauren Boebert’s 18-year-old son, Tyler Boebert, is facing 22 counts stemming from a series of thefts in Colorado.
An arrest affidavit shed light on a particularly scandalous detail: Tyler Boebert allegedly produced a sex tape with a fellow suspect involved in the robberies, as revealed by a juvenile interrogated in connection to the thefts, who claimed Tyler distributed the tape among their peers.
Tyler Boebert and his group of underage friends stand accused of breaking into vehicles in Rifle, Colorado. Their alleged spree involved the theft of wallets and credit cards, which they purportedly used at various local businesses, including gas stations, Starbucks, McDonald’s and the fashion retailer Shein. Notably, an attempt to make a $717 purchase at Shein was thwarted.
Surveillance footage from a gas station captured Tyler Boebert using one of the stolen cards. A law enforcement officer, familiar with Boebert from previous encounters, identified him in the video. Following his arrest, Tyler was released without bail after a brief court appearance. He now potentially faces felony charges for criminal possession of identification documents and conspiracy to commit a felony, in addition to over 15 misdemeanor and petty offenses.
Amid these developments, Representative Lauren Boebert has expressed her unwavering support for her son.
“I love my son Tyler, who has been through some very difficult, public challenges for a young man and the subject of attention that he didn’t ask for,” she stated.
The controversial legislator conveyed her deep sorrow over her son’s current predicament, emphasizing the numerous opportunities he had been given to steer his life in a better direction.
“It breaks my heart to see my child struggling and in this situation, especially when he has been provided multiple opportunities to get his life on track,” she added.
“I will never give up on him and I will continue to be there for him. As an adult and father, Tyler will take responsibility for his actions and should be held accountable for poor decisions just like any other citizen.”
