President Joe Biden responded on Thursday to a Christmas message from former President Donald Trump, with a bible quote about “doing good to those who hate you.”
Trump, in a post on Truth Social, harshly criticized various groups and individuals, including political opponents and world leaders, accusing them of attempting to destroy the United States.
“Merry Christmas to all, including Crooked Joe Biden’s ONLY HOPE, Deranged Jack Smith, the out of control Lunatic who just hired outside attorneys, fresh from the SWAMP (unprecedented!), to help him with his poorly executed WITCH HUNT against ‘TRUMP’ and ‘MAGA,'” Trump wrote. “Included also are World Leaders, both good and bad, but none of which are as evil and “sick” as the THUGS we have inside our Country who, with their Open Borders, INFLATION, Afghanistan Surrender, Green New Scam, High Taxes, No Energy Independence, Woke Military, Russia/Ukraine, Israel/Iran, All Electric Car Lunacy, and so much more, are looking to destroy our once great USA. MAY THEY ROT IN HELL. AGAIN, MERRY CHRISTMAS!”
Biden’s response to Trump’s message was markedly different in tone, referring a biblical passage which advocates for love and forgiveness towards one’s enemies.
“There’s an expression they say in church sometimes: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you,” Biden said on X.

Polling in the major party primaries suggests a potential rematch between Biden and Trump in the 2024 general election, with each of the previous presidential election’s nominees dominating their respective party primaries by significant margins.
Current polling data indicates a narrow lead for Trump over Biden in the 2024 general election. In a RealClearPolitics polling average, Trump stands at 46.8%, slightly ahead of Biden’s 44.5%. This lead is also reflected in key battleground states, according to a Morning Consult/Bloomberg survey, which shows Trump leading Biden in states like Arizona, Georgia, Wisconsin, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Nevada and North Carolina.
