Tucker Carlson just interviewed former Senate aide Tara Reade, who famously accused President Joe Biden of sexual assault.
Carlson claimed in the promotion of the episode that Reade has been targeted by Biden’s Department of Justice (DOJ) since her accusation, forcing her to flee to Russia seeking political asylum. The two spoke in Moscow for the interview.
“It’s amazing what’s happened to you,” Carlson would say at one point in the airing.
“So your lawyers have sued the Biden Department of Justice for misconduct,” Carlson said.
“Yeah,” Reade responded. “Well, my attorney, actually, had filed a complaint with the inspector general about the way I was treated by the FBI and DOJ and how they were harassing me.”
“They didn’t receive a response. Surprise, surprise,” she continued. “So, after we waited, there was no response. He filed a claim, and it’s for ten million dollars. And the- basically what the outcome would be, hopefully, is that they will open my FBI files and then expunge them.”
“I think it’s a credible story,” Carlson would later say, asking “but what did you do wrong?”
“I think not shutting up,” Reade replied. “I just wouldn’t stop talking.”
Reade then accused former White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki of lying, pointing to a moment she said the case was “litigated” when that was not true.
Reade later shared that she visited Moscow on vacation, but chose to not return to the U.S. over fear of being indicted if she went back.
She emphasized that she never planned to stay in Moscow, saying that she only packed her suitcase for seven days.
Reade also blamed the mainstream media–including The New York Times, New York Post, and Politico–for “amplifying” the situation. “They did their due diligence for the empire,” she stated.
“I’m a regular citizen,” Reade continued. “I don’t have a PR team, I don’t have lawyers.”
Carlson weighed in at another point in the interview to clarify Reade’s political leanings. “Just to be clear, you sound like you’ve been a fairly liberal Democrat your whole life,” he said, to which Reade confirmed, “I was.”
Reade continued by expressing her dismay for the way she was treated following her accusations against Biden.
“You’re in danger of being indicted. And what happens then?” Carlson asked.
“Well, I would be put into a cage because with the far act, it’s a backdoor to the Espionage act essentially,” Reade responded.
The Tucker Carlson Network provided background to the interview in a subsequent post on X, writing, “In 2020, Tara Reade … spoke out to accuse Joe Biden of sexually assaulting her while she was an aide in the U.S. Senate.”
“What followed was two criminal investigations and exile to Russia—not of Joe Biden, but of Tara Reade,” the post continued. “That seems backwards, doesn’t it?”
Resist The Mainstream reported last month on Carlson’s interview with Telegram founder and creator Pavel Durov, where the two discussed a variety of topics, ranging from the app’s organic growth over the years to the pressures it has faced from governments.
Much of the conversation revolved around attempts to influence the app from foreign governments, however, Durov notably explained how he was contacted by “both sides” following the J6 riots.
