It’s official: Trump has chosen Tulsi Gabbard as Director of National Intelligence.
“For over two decades, Tulsi has fought for our Country and the Freedoms of all Americans,” Trump started in his statement announcing Gabbard as his pick.
“As a former Candidate for the Democrat Presidential Nomination, she has broad support in both Parties – She is now a proud Republican!”

Resist the Mainstream reported earlier on Wednesday about rumors that Gabbard had been snubbed by Trump for the position of defense secretary.
This came as Trump nominated Fox News host and decorated Army veteran Pete Hegseth for the role.
Hegseth’s nomination surprised many Washington insiders considering Gabbard had expressed interest in the position, the New York Post reported.
She was also notably interested in becoming CIA director.
A GOP insider told the Post that Gabbard was “going to privately petition Trump early this week” about the defense secretary position.
Trump himself made breaking news headlines on Wednesday when he officially gained unchecked power in Congress after Republicans reportedly kept majority in the House of Representatives.
The GOP officially crossed the crucial 218-seat threshold in the House of Representatives, solidifying their majority in the 435-member chamber more than a week after the election.
This victory complements their recent Senate flip and Donald Trump’s presidential win over Vice President Kamala Harris, per Daily Mail.
It also created the most comprehensive Republican control of the federal government in nearly a century.
