A terrible on-set shooting occurred on Oct. 21, 2021, when Alec Baldwin rehearsed a scene for the western movie “Rust.”
The gun Baldwin was holding discharged, wounding director Joel Souza and killing cinematographer Halyna Hutchins.
Baldwin maintained that he did not know the weapon was loaded and did not pull the trigger. Prosecutors have brought charges against Baldwin and the set “armorer,” Hannah Gutierrez-Reed.
Though the case involving Baldwin is in-process, a jury rendered a verdict for Gutierrez-Reed on Wednesday.
Gutierrez-Reed was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter in the death of Halyna Hutchins. Following the verdict, she was remanded back into custody until her sentencing, which is expected to come in April.

Blaze Media reported that Gutierrez-Reed faces a possible sentence of 18 months in prison.
According to Variety, the jury acquitted Gutierrez-Reed of “tampering with evidence” charges.
TMZ reported that movie producers testified that Gutierrez-Reed ignored proper safety protocols, charges the armorer contested.
Regarding the dummy rounds, Gutierrez-Reed said: “This bag had a bunch of loose dummies in it. I went through and I checked all of them, and I put them into two boxes. … They were in my car for like two weeks.”
Gutierrez-Reed added that as a safety measure, she shook the rounds, “all of them most of the time.”
Prosecutor Kari Morrissey argued that Gutierrez-Reed showed an “astonishing failure” to follow safety protocols.
Gutierrez-Reed’s attorney vowed to appeal the verdict.
Alec Baldwin’s manslaughter trial will begin in July. The actor, 65, maintains that the revolver discharged accidentally and that he did not know the weapon was loaded with live rounds.
Baldwin was reportedly told the weapon that discharged was a “cold gun.”
