Former Vice President Kamala Harris is under fire after announcing a memoir about her embarrassing 2024 presidential run, which ended after just 107 days.
Titled 107 Days, the book promises a “behind-the-scenes look” at her implosion of a campaign, which ended in historic failure after burning through billions and failing to win support even within her own party.
The announcement came just one day after Harris said she would not run for governor of California, fueling rumors she’s eyeing another presidential run in 2028.
“What the world saw on the campaign trail was only part of the story,” Harris claimed in a post on social media. “Since leaving office, I’ve spent a lot of time reflecting on those days… writing a journal that is in this book.”
“It was intense, high stakes and deeply personal,” she added.
Critics online immediately tore into the book and its author. White House Deputy Press Secretary Abigail Jackson posted, “Writing a memoir about being a loser is a choice.”
Nick Sortor mocked Harris’s alleged financial mess: “Trying to sell some books to pay down your $5 million debt to Beyoncé for that endorsement?”
Others said the memoir will be a “recipe for a word salad,” blasting Harris’s track record of bizarre speeches, awkward interviews, and incoherent messaging throughout the campaign.
Jim Hanson posted, “I can’t wait to hear the inside story about how you burned $1.5B in 107 days and accomplished absolutely nothing.”
Eric Daugherty piled on, asking, “Does the book include how much you paid for endorsements and cringe performances at your astroturfed rallies?”
Even Democrats were forced to acknowledge Harris’s colossal failure, as the Conservative Brief reported.
Former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) called the memoir a “how-not-to” guide for future candidates. “She was destroyed in every single swing state,” McCarthy said on Fox News. “She lost women at a lower margin than Joe Biden. Joe Biden carried women at a greater margin than she did.”
McCarthy didn’t hold back: “She has no one to blame but her as a candidate for 107 days.”
He added that Harris’s failed consideration for California governor shows her weakness as a candidate. “She talked about maybe running for governor, then she got second thoughts, because she knew she couldn’t win,” McCarthy said. “I think this book is her idea to try to set the stage to be the Democrat nominee again.”
President Donald Trump, who beat Harris in 2024 after Biden dropped out, mocked her again on Thursday.
“She can’t speak, she can’t talk, she can’t do an interview,” Trump said from the White House.
Reflecting on their unusual campaign matchup, Trump said, “I thought it was a very strange campaign that we had. But, you know, I had two of them.”
“We were up by this massive number of points on Biden, and they said, ‘Let’s change to Kamala.’ Nobody knew who Kamala was.”
Despite the backlash, Harris’s team is moving forward with publication. But online, the verdict is already in: 107 Days might go down as the shortest and most mocked campaign memoir in U.S. history.
